The Glastonbury Festival may therefore have been Sir Elton John's last show in the UK, his last chance to greet his home audience live. From the musician's words, however, it was inferred that other occasions, in the future, might not be missed. Elton John's 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' started on 8 September 2018 in Pennsylvania (USA) and will end on 8 July 2023 in Sweden. The tour included more than 300 concerts around the world and, according to Billboard, grossed approximately $887 million, making it the highest-grossing tour ever.
Any other numbers on Sir Elton John's very long career? He has produced more than 800 songs of which 600 have been officially released, he has played more than 3500 concerts and in 2008 he achieved his personal record of having performed in every state in the USA.
