Eurovision Song Contest, also known as Eurofestival, is an international music festival organized annually by the European Broadcasting Union.
It was created in 1956 in Lugano and is one of the world's longest-running music television programs, broadcast worldwide except during 2020. Several spin-offs have been created from ESC, including a youth version, Junior Eurovision Song Contest, a Canadian version, a U.S. version called American Song Contest and a South American version.
The event is very popular, and ratings in recent years have been estimated at between 100 and 600 million people internationally.
