Britpop fans are believing it, and this time for real: Oasis' return to the studio this time could really be close, as some sources have been saying for the past few days. The British group, formed by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, broke up in 2009 after 18 years of success due to constant quarrels between the two, but now it seems that fans can finally dream of a comeback.
According to the British tabloids, in fact, the recent divorce of the older brother Noel from his long-time partner Sara MacDonald has brought the two closer together, spurred on also by their family, and the news that is circulating is that of an upcoming meeting, in London.

Both "Sun" and "Mirror" are talking more and more insistently about an upcoming clarifying meeting between Noel and Liam Gallagher, members of the British pop band Oasis. Fans all over the world are hoping that this will be the right time after the constant quarrels between the two.

An active band since as far back as 1991, they were in business until 2009, when older brother Noel announced his split from the band the day after a terrible fight at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Guitars are said to have flown between the two when they were only three dates away from the end of their world tour.

Since that distant August 28, 2009, and for the past 14 years, it has been a continuous social squabble, between barbs and mutual accusations. Over the years, relations have become increasingly strained, and have become almost unmanageable with the relaunch of Liam's solo career , repeatedly accused by Noel of "exploiting" songs composed by the latter for Oasis. In fact, as British tabloids report, before thinking about a possible Reunion, the personal relationship between the two Gallagher brothers will have to be healed.

During their career together they have released 11 albums and are estimated to have sold over 70 million records, including 18 in 1996 alone. They can boast 8 UK number 1 singles, 22 consecutive UK top 10 singles and have collected 15 NME Awards, 6 Brit Awards, 9 Q Awards and 4 MTV Europe Music Awards. In August 1996, one of the biggest open-air concerts ever held in the UK took place at Knebworth Park: the event was attended by a total of 250,000 people (tickets sold out in two days), with over 2.6 million people requesting tickets, equivalent to 5% of the UK population at the time.

Noel's split from long-time partner Sara MacDonald, a relationship that had been going on for 22 years, is said to have brought the two closer. It is no secret that Liam disliked his sister-in-law, going so far as to call her 'a witch'. Furthermore, the singer accused Sara, in 2018, of not favouring a reunion with his brother Noel, who has always been said to be the most reticent about a rapprochement.
