Paul McCartney talks about the use of Artificial Intelligence for the Beatles' "final" song

Some time ago, Sir Paul McCartney told 'The New Yorker' that he wanted to release one last Beatles song - 'Now and Then' - with Ringo Starr.

The song was part of an album that McCartney, George Harrison and Starr had recorded in 1995, after they had reunited. The record had then been created from some home-made demos made by John Lennon in New York in the 1970s.

'Now and Then' had never been completed because George Harrison didn't want to do it. But now things might be different, also thanks to Artificial Intelligence.

Paul McCartney's statements
Today Paul McCartney returned to talk about Now and Then, the song that should finally be released. He is back at it again because Artificial Intelligence is supposed to be used to make it happen, and this would have worried many fans of the band. For this reason, the former Beatle is said to have released an official note and interview on BBC Radio 4's Today programme. The purpose? To clarify this side of the story.

McCartney's clarification on the use of Artificial Intelligence.
According to the published note, there is much confusion about the use of artificial intelligence in the making of 'Now and Then'. At the moment, McCartney could not disclose many details on the matter but assured that nothing would be created artificially or synthetically. The processing would only involve cleaning up some existing recordings.

The processing of the record
Previously, Paul McCartney had stated that when they came to make what would be the last Beatles record, they had a demo in their hands that John Lennon had and that they worked on to finish it. McCartney had also stated that thanks to Artificial Intelligence they had been able to take Lennon's voice and then mix the record as one would normally do.
