In 1988 she was the first to break a world record. Thanks to her 'Break Every Rule Tour', she performed at the Maracana, Rio de Janeiro, in front of 184,000 people. At the time, it was the largest audience in the world present at a concert.
Tina Turner's life has also been punctuated by more or less serious health problems. In 2013, three weeks after her marriage to Erwin Bach, she suffered a stroke and had to undergo a long period of rehabilitation to learn to walk again. In 2016, however, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer.
Her actual career in music began in 1956 when she met Ike Turner (her future husband), with whom she recorded the song 'Boxtop' in 1958, which marked her recording debut. She initially used the pseudonym Little Ann. Only in 1960, with the single 'A Fool in Love', did she officially become known as Tina Turner. From there she climbed the international charts.
A few years ago, his son Craig, who was almost a teenager from an earlier dramatic relationship with Ike Turner, committed suicide at the age of 59. The last blow in a life full of drama.
In December 2005, she was awarded the Kennedy Center Honours for her art performances, joining a small circle of artists that also included Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Little Richard and Chuck Berry.
